Topic for this issue:
Staying healthy is all about preventing to get sick, even if you are very healthy and live formost with a health attitude; you still would have to know how to prevent possible problems from starting.
The health system is pretty much in disarray with hospitals crowded, not enough Doctors and nurses and general health cost skyrocketing.
In the meantime, weight problems are globally on the increase.
How is that possible, people knew 20 or 30 years ago that over-eating can have serious consequences, and everyone certainly knows that now.
Why is it still getting worse, why are we still gaining weight? I just read some statistics; in Mexico, 75% of people are overweight. It looks like they are living on soft drinks and fast foods.
It seems like people have no chance, the offers and temptations of soft drinks, fast foods and supersizing has turned the world into a big blob of fat. It would be funny if it wouldn’t be so serious. -
For sure, we all shoud be responsible for what we buy and eat, but obviousy the marketing gurus are too good and powerfull.
Global major food companies certainly have a case to answer for, but, if they do, they say that people should be responsible in their eating and drinking habits.
Should people be responsible for themselves? Yes, absolutely.
Is it easy to be responsible, going against the grain, saying no to nearly everything on offer?
No, it’s actually extremely hard to escape social pressures, advertising and marketing.
If however you believe in prevention, than you know what to do.
If you are overweight already, do everything to get the weight off as fast as you can.
If you are still the right weight for your size, watch what is going on around you, and make sure you are not falling into the same traps.
If you are young and invincible and laugh about fat people, remember the last laugh may not be yours. It’s frightening how fast you can get addicted to food and put on too much weight. Start practicing discipline and responsibility at a young age, when it is still easy.
That’s what prevention is all about, seeing what is going on around you and avoiding it. In this case avoiding putting on weight, which in itself is a major achievement.
It is easy to lose weight or keep off weight when you are young.
When you are young, activity and metabolism are at a high, once you are over 40, everything is slowing down and losing weight from this point forward becomes harder and harder.
Always watch your waistline, as soon as a tummy develops, you know you have been put on notice.
Stop what ever you are doing and restrict your eating. If you don’t know much about improving your diet, just go by the basic guidelines of cutting out as much as possible processed food and sugar, that simple step is enough for 70% of people.
